Position Duties:
  • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
  • Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
  • Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance. 
  • Candidate may be required to respond to after-hours requests as required in a 24 x 7 environment.

ServiceNow Specific Duties:
  • The candidate will configure/customize the ServiceNow system to fulfill customer requirements. This includes:
    • Building service requests from customer requirements, requested items and other associated tasks
    • Analyzing and fully understand disparate user requirements and current procedures in order to improve system capabilities
    • Creating requirements definitions and technical specifications documentation, use workflows to manage data flow from the customer to the support teams providing the service
    • Using scripting tools and ServiceNow functionality to automate rote tasks being done in ServiceNow
    • Performing integrations and process automation,  load, manipulate and maintain data between Service-now and other systems, generate views and reports as needed
    • Automating process workflows and address scheduling limitations throughout the development and delivery of the in-house ServiceNow roadmap
    • Performing system and integration testing with sample and live data
    • Monitoring health, usage and overall compliance of the application,
    • Regularly assess existing ServiceNow usage and recommend forward evolution of capabilities to maximize their use within the development environment
    • Regularly update ServiceNow within the vendor’s release schedule, i.e. patches and hotfixes,
    • Being competent with ITIL/ITSM processes, working knowledge of CSS and other web technologies, and detailed knowledge of ServiceNow’s implementation of JavaScript.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
    • Five (5) years of system administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • 5 years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity within the Federal Government 
  • Experience with Java
