Position Overview: Join our team as a Database Engineer, where you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our data management processes. In this position, you will apply your technical expertise in database design, development, and implementation to enhance information storage, retrieval, and data analysis. Your contributions will include developing and maintaining database structures that seamlessly integrate with our overall system architecture, as well as innovating new workflows and addressing break/fix requests. Take the lead in driving the development of robust database structures, parser software, and loading tools. You will also support the creation and testing of Python-based REST endpoints, microservices, and data model management functionalities using the Django and Flask frameworks. This role will involve working with cutting-edge data models like MariaDB, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, delivering data in JSON format for UI front ends on demand.
Minimum Qualifications:
You must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
You should have proven experience in:
Database systems such as MongoDB or MariaDB
Python, Django, or Flask - REST endpoint development
Microservice architecture - Query optimization and database management
Troubleshooting optimization issues
Scaling databases effectively
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will also bring experience in:
Swagger, AWS, CS2, or other cloud technologies
Docker and Visual Studio Code or similar IDEs
JSON and/or XML serialization
Using Jira, Confluence, and/or Git for version control
Working within an Agile development environment
Education and Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience as a Database Engineer in programs and contracts that match the scope, type, and complexity of work within the Intelligence Community is essential. A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited institution is required; however, candidates with five (5) years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
