Join our team and play a critical role in the smooth operations of our data center, computer room, or machine room.
Position Overview: In this position, you will be entrusted with:
Overseeing access control, space assignment, and the handling and inventory of materials and equipment.
Keeping our access lists and rosters updated while ensuring secure entry to designated areas.
Ensuring complete accountability for every device in the machine room.
Managing property functions for the assigned machine room or computer room, ensuring optimal performance.
Tracking the installation and removal of equipment resulting from both planned and unplanned work.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date databases, including documenting after-hours service requests effectively.
Creating insightful reports from the databases to inform decision-making.
Identifying maintenance issues and conducting routine checks to uphold standards.
Conducting periodic audits and inspections to guarantee room cleanliness and organization.
Managing the essential power, space, and cooling requirements for all installed devices while accommodating requests for new installations or removals.
Overseeing a medium-scale data center with 2-3 computer rooms, ensuring efficiency across operations.
Providing crucial guidance and training to personnel with access to the rooms, fostering a safe environment.
Executing all functions in alignment with agency policies and established standards.
Professional Experience and Education:
A High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification is essential.
Minimum of one (1) year in customer service, asset management, or inventory management is preferred, ideally in a technical setting.
Proficient knowledge of computers and the Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
Familiarity with inventory and accountability processes is beneficial.
A strong understanding of machine room layout methodologies will set you apart.
Experience with access control or security escorting is advantageous but not mandatory.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires frequent standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and crawling.
You must be able to reach above your head and extend your arms and hands outward.
Regular lifting, pulling, pushing, and moving of items weighing 50 pounds or more will be necessary.
Proficiency in using hand trucks, dollies, flatbed carts, and pallet jacks (both manual and powered) is required.
